Born in Manual Doblado, Guanajuato, Mexico, Bernardino is the eldest son in a family of eleven children. He immigrated to the U.S. at age 17 and worked in lumber mills for many years. He received his bachelor’s degree in religious studies from the University of Oregon.
Bernardino has three children, and two grandchildren. When he isn’t working, he enjoys running and hiking outdoors, and he loves restoring old cars.
